GACC has developed a USD multi-million-dollar world leading cutting edge Cargo complex at Kotoka International Airport Ghana to facilitate the efficient handling and growth of the Cargo industry in Ghana. The complex completed in August 2016 after 29 months of construction boasts 10,000 sqm of prime modern, energy efficient office space and a 10,000 sqm metre technologically advanced Cargo handling area. Swissport International the world’s largest and leading independent ground handling company have invested with GACC to create Swissport Ghana to operate the new state of the art Cargo handling facilities.
Together the shareholders of Swissport Ghana have invested millions of dollars in the highest standards of Cargo Handling automation in the new Cargo Hub. Ghana is a beacon for aviation in West Africa with an ever increasing market and hosting the world’s largest international airlines. The new hub will enable Kotoka International Airport to become a Cargo Handling hub for the West Africa region to facilitate the growth of Cargo at the airport benefiting perishable exporters from Ghana. The total project has benefitted from a range of key partners including the contractor Energoprojekt Ghana, and financing partners Access Bank and the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation Ltd rtf5(Finnfund).
